53rd Annual District of Columbia One Fund Campaign
"If It Is to Be, It's Up to Me"
The 53rd Annual District of Columbia One Fund Campaign kicks off in October and runs through
April 14, 2008. The One Fund is the District government’s only official charitable fundraiser. DC government employees pledge their support annually to not-for-profit, charitable organizations in the Washington area. The campaign administrators are the
United Black Fund of Greater Washington, DC and the
United Way of the National Capital Area. The Chair of the DC One Fund Campaign this year is Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier.
This year’s campaign goal is $1.5 million in contributions District-wide. Working together every day, DC government employees accomplish remarkable things. With a little extra personal effort, we can also raise more than $1.5 million during the 53rd Annual DC One Fund Campaign to help people in need.
Every day, at least one among us is touched by need, and each day, we find support among our family and friends. Support is also available through the many organizations that we assist with our One Fund contributions.
This year, the One Fund Campaign theme is
If It Is to Be, It's Up to Me*. Just as we touch each other’s lives one at a time, our financial contributions add up dollar by dollar to make a difference. Please consider making a donation of at least $1 a week to help support those organizations that may have helped you, your coworkers, or others in the community. If you can become a Fair Share giver and donate 1 percent of your salary, we encourage you to do so. Your generosity will help sustain the important work of the One Fund organizations. Thank you.
