54th Annual District of Columbia One Fund CampaignDC One Fund Campaign

Greetings Colleagues,

November 12, 2008 marks the first day of the DC One Fund annual giving campaign! For the past 54 years, District government employees and retirees have stepped up to support more than 1,000 nonprofit organizations through the DC One Fund. This campaign is an opportunity for your staff to demonstrate their support for their favorite causes through workplace giving.

Last year the DC One Fund raised more than $1 million for charitable organizations, and this year we need all of you to help meet our $1.3 million goal!

With help from the United Way and the United Black Fund, we have created a new paperless process for collecting pledges and donations. This online portal will allow each agency to track individual giving and monitor agency goals. It also allows donors to make contributions in a variety of forms including credit and debit card payments, as well as checking accounts. This quick and easy process is yet another accomplishment in the District’s war on paper, and will help us make the process much more efficient and accountable.

We invite you to be a part of something special by participating in the 2008 DC One Fund campaign. Make a lump sum donation before the end of the 2008 tax season or arrange for biweekly payroll deductions. A donation of only $4 per pay will make an impact on your charity of choice.

The 54th Annual DC One Fund giving campaign will continue until Tuesday, March 31, 2009, so there will be plenty of opportunities to give. Learn how your contribution can make a difference for an organization in need and make a pledge!

To learn more about the DC One Fund call (202) 724-8641 Monday-Friday, 9 am-5 pm for questions or support.

Together, we can make a difference!

Sincerely,

DC One Fund Chair:
Stephanie Scott (Secretary of the District of Columbia)
